HORA'TORIUM
Roli Strobel, freewheeling playmaker, hardnosed coach and overwhelmed referee of the worldclass combo HORA’BAND and this June’s ISLAND-EURO 16-H’ORATORIUM, penned the following heartfelt promo for his team. (But beware, the guy doesn’t pull any punches.)

«This band is as uncorrupted as a Sunday church choir. Just a note or two more spectacular. For one thing, we play just as intense if somebody shows up or when the place’s sold out with no-shows. We simply can’t help ourselves, it’s in our stage blood. It’s the moment that counts and there’s no second chance. Kind of like life at times. Or the penalty kick. Unless someone moves too early. Anyways, you can always trust that this band shows up – unlike what happens in some of those Euro games.  We’re the HORA’BAND and we aim to inject real life into the pause between games of that much hyped diversion. And we get it on without falling all over each other on top of a heated grass pitch. And compared to the player personalities on our team, champs like Ronaldo, Lahm and even Ibra are really more like chumps. ‘Cause look at it this way, if a drummer can put together an intellectually challenging sequence of beats in one song prelude - and in slow motion at that! – it definitely has to count as an honorable attempt at the dramatization of the divine human tragedy. Smack through the heart and zipped-doo-day deeper into the inner sanctuary of the human soul. Honestly, it holds up real well in comparison to those run-of-the-mill rock and pop tunes that resemble nothing more than the emotional wasteland of a dried out swamp. Actually, it blows that conventional stuff right off the field. Our show’s kind of like a massage of the gastrocnemius and soleus and this Sunday night it will include the corcillum and the pectum. Because with us, life on earth is not just a given – we’ll prove it to you it actually exists! And forgive us but to make an omelet you gotta break some eggs. So, bon appetit and God bless! (Hey, He just might!).»
