Sarda (CH)
The great jazz pianist George Shearing, who was blind, handed his blindman's dog to another person in 'Departures' prior to boarding his flight because he had to take a leak. As he told it, that person turned out to be the pilot, so people waiting to board the plane...
The subject of the latest work by our guests tonite actually is a blind dog by the name of Poldo and he lent his name to Sarda's 4-suite composition «Poldo Suite». This canine is a metaphorical man-dog who's life is irrevocably transformed by his encounter with music. Yours could be too if you embrace the sound of Sarda, it's a windblown, nostalgic kind of music and writing, performed with great skill and inspired by the scraggly backhill country of beautiful Sardenia. The lyrics are equally invoking, like, in so many words, «The truth will be revealed by telling lies».

The members of the band are Daniela Sarda (vocals, accordion, piano), Ralph Sonderegger (bass, guitar, ukulele), Mike Moling (piano, bass) and Rico Baumann (drums). It's their 10th anniversary and the end of their latest tour and for this celebratory bash in our neck of the woods they'll present us with their «Poldo Suite» live. Tonite that also means the addition of the brilliant raconteuse Denise Geisser (ex-Acapickels) as well as the presentation of a related 40 min. film, starring Poldo and directed by Kapuly Dietrich. Poldo might just become the most famous movie dog since Rin-Tin-Tin.
