A powerhouse in the making

oh what a night...
Awsum. This Athenian band calls their music ominously J E T Z T Z E I T perhaps in reference to their resurrection of the work of NEU!, Kraftwerk and other early Krautrock bands.

It doesn’t end there. Due to their open door policy this by concept modular band invites other talented musicians to sit in with their contributions and it’s improvisation and the unexpected when, not if the Greek volcano erupts and explodes in both their recording and live sessions. Which in turn leads to meandering operatic exploits and deliberate unpredictability plus additional footprints by Pink Floyd meets Iron Butterfly’s In-a-gadda-da-Vida meets California 60’s/70’s psychedelia and Terry Riley, Sun Ra and Eric Dolphy at any given night. It’ll be up to you to hear even more traces from that great creative era in their astonishing instrumental, electronic and vocal assault. More promising expansion went down due to jamming with Budos Band, Preoccupations (ex- Vietcong), Moon Duo, Underground Youth and The Weekend. Chickn’s self-titled album was released in late 2016 by Inner Ear and a liner note might explain the riddle of their name – MEN ARE DEAD MAN ARE GONE SOME CHICKEN CARRIED ON.

You can expect - maybe likely surely - to hear Angelos Krallis (voc, guitar, sitar, synth), Pantelis Karasevdas (drums, perc), Stephanos Chytiris (drums, perc), Mark Brown (voc, bass) and Chris Bkrs (string machine, synth). They’re a powerhouse in the making and you’d do ok to catch them in a small setting
J E T Z T  before their power sound zaps much larger venues.
