That’s right club rats, it’s a night of worldclass dance and infectious party music straight from balmy Bangkok, an extravagant and exotic sound that’ll turn your brain to mush and your limbs to caoutchouc rubber. It’s music that has the power of a Thai typhoon and the seductiveness of a Pranee oil massage.
Actually, it’s nostalgic Thai Pop in vintage Molam style, extremely popular in the 60’s and 70’s there and in other parts of the globe and brought back to new life today in the form of compilations, boasting the participation of two of the grand master magicians of the genre who are members of this group tonite: Kammao Perdtanon, the Jimi Hendrix of the Phin (a Thai lute, and have you ever seen an instrument neck like that?) and the 72- year old Sawai Kaewsombat, mindblowing the Khaen, an Eastasian kind of harmonica, that looks a little like an elongated, oversized flute of Pan. Tremendous velocity, sensual dancability and the trancelike power of an ancient beat is added to this combo through the contribution of some hotshots of the contemporary Bangkok music scene.
It’s going to be a flaming hot and spicy Thai dance and party night here on Paradise Island ZH tonite.
