Thalia Zedek, a survivor and one of the great ladies of rock still around still surprises. Like this year's the year of her most intense and extensive U.S. and European tour in six years. No less than 30 gigs in 42 days (We're stop 18), Feb. 6 - March 30th. Yes, intense. Mind you, 2013 wasn't that tranquil either, to say the least. Thalia reunited with Tom Brokaw and her former band Come and reissued their classic debut «Eleven:Eleven». Following that, she regrouped with her own band in Boston and recorded «SIX» which followed «VIA» the same year and which also clearly crowns Ms. Zedek the queen of the 3-letter album titles.
About «VIA» a fan writes on the web «Hearing a new Thalia record gives me hope for music». Paste published «Those big open guitar chords only add to the songs' emotional thrust...powerful stuff». PopMatters called it «a rumbling, sweet set of tunes, as resilient as they are beautiful.» The quick «SIX» is her very latest work and it's been made available in limited quantity in both cd and 12" vinyl at the start of her European tour. It opens with the slow-moving intense and full-band «Fell So Hard» and includes a cover of Freakwaters' «Flathand».
THA-LIA-ZE-DEK, the queen of survivor rock and the 3-letter titles. Could LUV be next?
