Summit (CH)
Pinnacle. Top. Height. Peak. Summit. Looks like these young, fresh, cocky musicians know where they want to go and be.
And they might just get there and on to world prominence if 90 live concerts in the bag are any indication of things to come. And here's some more essential bio stuff: 2005 Max and Julian birth Summit in Zurich (revised media release: Max and Julian birth Summit during a brawl at a school break - hey, mythos building is great pr...); 2007 «Band-it» victory, Seno and Pablo join the winner; 2008 The year of over 15 concerts, incl. Volkshaus ZH and OpenAir Greifensee; 2009 Semifinalist in the MyCoke contest and the Abart battle of the bands; 2010 EP release; 2012 NME affirmed their debut 'to be the biggest thing since we affirmed the biggest thing last time'; 2013 NZZ designates the sold-out concert at the Hallenstadion as 'the most important event in Switzerland since the independence of the Canton Jura; 2015 Summit has to cancel their second US tour due to unresolved paternity issues and the resulting visa problems.
In Summit is where four young Zurich guys found each other and cemented their unity and creativity and they are Max Kaemmerling on guitar, Julian Pollina on voice and bass, Julian Szenogrady on drums and Pablo Villars on guitar also. In regard to their fourth gig on our flat island, Summit is letting us know that «With the brand new project 'Baby Flippers' we're undertaking a new path. Gone is the loaded drum set, at times we've replaced it with the lighter drum computer that's older than the drummer/operator. Add bass, electric guitar and song lyrics in German - thoughtful and witty, but then...fuhgeddaboudid.»  And just when we thought they turned somewhat predictable, they inform that for the gig with us the traditional drum set will be dragged on stage once more in support of their electronic, electric and acoustic concoctions (hey, unpredictability is great pr...) And all pieces from the last decade we might add. They're a sympathetic young bunch who'll surprise you with interesting, mature, even wise work. We're not in the business of predictions but their appearance on our worldly stage might just be the kick-off to their rise to global prominence.
